About AeroAVL
Finding the right partners shouldn’t be the hardest part of the job.
But it often is.
It’s Thursday morning and your head of sales is thrilled. They’re back from a trade show with an opportunity to quote a major aerospace customer you’ve been chasing for years. It could be a game changer. The catch? The quote is due Monday morning, and the prints specify a niche finishing process and exotic alloys you’ve never had to source before.
The clock is ticking, and you’re scrambling.
I know that feeling because I’ve lived it. I’m Scott Cummings. I’ve spent over 30 years in aerospace, from early-stage startups to Fortune 500 primes. Building a reliable, qualified supply chain has always been a grind. And despite all our modern digital tools, it hasn’t gotten any easier.
Our team needed an AS9100-certified partner with an active ITAR registration capable of laser seam welding rolled sheet metal tubing. What followed was hours of dead-end web searches, vague directory listings, AI hallucinations, and frantic “do you know anyone who…” phone calls just to get a single viable shop on the line.
I’ve sat on the other side of the table, too. As a manufacturer, you invest in equipment, train your people, and earn demanding certifications meant to set you apart. Yet your most critical capabilities end up buried in a dense PDF or lost on page four of search results.
Somewhere out there, a buyer is looking for the exact part you make. You’re the perfect fit. And yet, you never cross paths.
We built AeroAVL to close that gap.
It started as an internal tool to solve our own sourcing headaches. We opened it to the industry because the companies we were trying to find were also looking for customers like us.
AeroAVL focuses on suppliers with AS9100, AS9110 or AS9120 certification. Buyers can search by manufacturing process, quality and compliance requirements, and location, then contact suppliers directly. Suppliers can claim their profiles and keep their capabilities and qualifications current, helping prospective customers understand where they’re a good fit.
